In addition to our variety of Courses, Workshops, and Masterclasses, HCP offers students the opportunity to work one-on-one with HCP instructors, mentors, and staff members. HCP offers 3 services tailored to specific needs - Private Lessons for learning photography or acquiring important technical skills (software, lighting, printing, etc), Mentorship Programs for receiving advanced guidance from accomplished practitioners while developing your personal work, book publications, online presence, etc, and Portfolio Reviews for consulting about your photographic practice, potential opportunities, and how to push your career forward.

Please contact us at education@hcponline.org with any questions regarding these services and/or instructors and mentors you are considering studying/working with.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons provide students with a highly effective, one-on-one learning experience with an HCP instructor. Private Lessons are tailored to students’ skill level and interests and can focus a variety of topics including (but not limited to): camera operations, photographic processes, equipment, software, composition, lighting, printing, specific genres or techniques, and more.

Mentorship Programs

Mentorships Programs offer photographers personal guidance at the highest level from one of HCP’s Mentors or Advanced Photography Practices instructors. Mentorships are designed for image-makers looking to develop their photographic work, edit and sequence personal projects, improve their marketing and online presence, design or publish a photobook, prepare for an exhibition, or any other professional aspiration.

Portfolio Reviews (Consultations)

Portfolio Reviews are an hour-long consultation with your preferred HCP Staff Member or HCP Mentor, including photography professionals of internationally recognized caliber. Portfolio consultations can help you develop your photographic practice, prepare for portfolio reviews such as FotoFest, or suggest potential opportunities in support of your professional career including HCP mentorship programs.
