HCP is thrilled to offer an in-person masterclass with award-winning professional fine art and commercial photographer Susan Burnstine. This weekend-long workshop will focus on learning the skills to uncover and identify students’ unique interpretations and communicate a deeper meaning of place, exploring the many ways in which self and place can interact.

Land Matters: Photography, Landscape, Environment.
HCP is excited to offer an extended online masterclass with internationally renowned writer, curator, and educator Liz Wells. This course will focus on environmental images, issues and interventions. We shall critically reflect on ways in which photographers have deployed photography and associated media to question, investigate and respond to places and scenarios, ideas and issues.

David Hilliard | Modes, Motives & Motifs: Why We Make Photographs
The Houston Center of Photography is excited to offer a masterclass with David Hilliard in which he will explore the motivations and concepts behind the subjects photographers choose, the technical modes used to realize those choices and finally, the visual motifs utilized to shape and convey those ideas.

Dina Litovsky | Lighting, Intention, and Style
The Houston Center of Photography is excited to offer a masterclass with Dina Litosvky that will focus on the many creative uses of light on location, in both editorial and personal work. Dina Litovsky will go over how to use light in documentary projects, portraiture, and remote photography. Students will learn the invaluable skill of planning out a lighting setup in advance as well as constructing one on the spot using whatever sources are available.
