Learn about HCP’s new Certificate Programs and Fall Courses & Workshops, have your images reviewed, and receive free guidance on you photographic work. This event will include (i) a short presentation of Michael Robinson Chávez’s main projects, (ii) a review of HCP’s educational offering, (iii) a Q&A session, and (iv) free personal consultations of attendees’ portfolios.
Attendees who wish to have their work reviewed need to send a selection of up to 10 images representing their work. Submission instructions will be emailed to registered attendees one day before the event.
Michael Robinson Chávez has established himself as a prominent visual journalist based in Spain. Over 15 years at The Washington Post, and prior stints at The Los Angeles Times and The Boston Globe, he has cultivated a deep understanding of photography and its power to tell compelling stories. Chávez's accolades include two Pulitzer Prizes, including one in 2020 for The Washington Post's exploration of climate change. He's a three-time Robert F. Kennedy Award winner and was named Pictures of the Year International's Photographer of the Year in 2019.
Natan Dvir is the Managing Director of Education at the Houston Center for Photography (HCP). His personal work focuses on the human aspects of cultural, social, and political issues and has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in museums, galleries, and festivals around the world, including the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, and Israel. His projects have been widely published in leading international magazines, including National Geographic, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, and Le Monde.
