Tom Flaherty

Tom Flaherty is Houston based, lifelong self-taught photographer whose work primarily focuses on street, urbanscape and documentary photography. He is fascinated by all manner of visual culture including public signs, structures, and often overlooked everyday objects and situations. In his digital photography practice, Flaherty uses 35mm cameras as well as iPhone cameras to produce his work. 

Flaherty is an active member of Houston’s photography community and is on the board of the Houston Center for Photography, where he served as president between 2015-2017. For the past decade, he has taught a variety of successful iPhone Photography classes at the Glasscock School of Continuing Education at Rice University, Houston.
