Gabi Magaly

Gabi Magaly is an emerging artist born in Bryan, Texas and living in San Antonio, Texas. She received her BFA from Sam Houston State University in 2015, and her MFA in Visual Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2020. Magaly works predominantly in the medium of photography yet employs other mediums as well such as sculptural installation and embroidery. 

Magaly’s solo exhibitions include the Satellite Gallery, Huntsville; The Brick, San Antonio; Presa House Gallery, San Antonio; and Casa Lu, Mexico City. Her work has been exhibited in numerous group shows including Luis Leu Gallery, Karlsruhe, Germany; The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, San Antonio; Masur Museum of Art, Monroe; Museo De Las Américas, Denver; New Texas Talent XXVII, Dallas; and Mexic-Arte Museum, Austin. Magaly received two CAMMIE awards from Blue Star Contemporary and Luminaria Contemporary Cultural Center during Contemporary Art Month 2020 in San Antonio. She also served on the SPE Board of Directors from 2020 to 2023.
