In 1955, two photographers were awarded grants by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation for U.S. survey projects. Robert Frank’s cross-country trip by car would result in the celebrated book ‘The Americans.’ Todd Webb’s project, by contrast, was to walk, boat, and bike across the country. Lisa Volpe, who curated the exhibition and wrote the catalogue, will lead HCP members on an exclusive tour of this fascinating show, illuminating the process of bringing together the two photographers’ work for the first time.

Attendees will receive a complimentary entry to the MFAH. Parking is recommended in the nearest garage, the Beck Garage (1144 Binz St, Houston, TX 77005).

This event is free and limited to 20 attendees (1 spot per member). To become an HCP member please visit this link.
