Understanding Adobe's AI Features (Feb 7)

Artificial intelligence is transforming the creative process. Adobe’s latest AI-powered tools open up new possibilities for artists and photographers alike. In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the newest generative and assistive AI features in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, learning how to use them thoughtfully and effectively in the photographic workflow. Students will discover how AI can help with image enhancement, background replacement, object removal, generative fill, and creative image generation. Participants will also explore the limitations of these AI tools, and how to apply non-AI tools to accomplish their tasks. We’ll also discuss ethical considerations, authorship, and how to maintain your unique artistic voice while using AI tools.
Objectives:
Explore the AI features in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop
Use AI tools for image enhancement and creative edits
Incorporate AI techniques into your professional workflow
Learn how to achieve similar results using traditional methodologies and tools
Discuss ethical issues and authorship considerations using AI
Maintain your personal artistic voice while using AI
Prerequisites:
Students must have at least initial experience in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. Lightroom I and Photoshop I courses are preferred.
Course Prep:
Students should bring a selection of 10-20 images (preferably in RAW format) they photographed which they will practice on during the workshop.
