It’s not enough to take great photographs. Aspiring artists also need to learn to navigate the marketplace including how to talk professionally, how to find a gallery, and how to stand out from the crowd.
This 6-part virtual series offers practical strategies and tips on finding a gallery, marketing yourself, developing your practice, and showcasing your work. Led by pioneer collector, educator and advisor Alice Sachs Zimet, you'll gain valuable insights and real-life practical techniques to navigate the gallery scene. Each week will focus on a different topic – from questions collectors ask, through how to promote and brand yourself, to how to find the ‘right’ gallery. During the final two classes, students will present their work and promotional materials, followed by peer critique. By the end of this course, participants will feel more confident, prepared and aware of how the fine art photography market operates and how to access it successfully!
