Learn about the principles of photography and how to use your camera controls for creative expression. This workshop will help you understand how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together to convey mood and motion in a photo, and how focal length affects how a camera sees space. With a grasp of these ideas and techniques, you will be able to control your camera in order to freeze motion, take a photo with a sharp subject and blurry background, and more!

Objectives:

  • Learn basic camera operations 

  • Understand how to use the manual setting on your camera

  • Gain control over how you record motion and depth of field in your images

  • Import pictures to your computer correctly and effectively

Prerequisites: None

Course Prep: 
Students need to bring their DSLR or mirrorless cameras to class. Bringing your camera’s user manual is highly recommended.
