Cammie Tipton-Amini

Cammie Tipton-Amini is an independent scholar and photo-historian. Her primary research focuses on contemporary photography within the postcolonial diaspora. Tipton-Amini holds an M.A. in Art History from the University of Houston. Tipton-Amini has taught classes about The History of Photography at University of Houston (UH) main campus and at Sam Houston State University. As Assistant Curator for Public Art UHS (2021-23), she has facilitated managing and highlighting the institution's vast art collection across its multiple campuses. Published essays include, “Martin Parr and the Legacy of British Colonial Photography,” (2023, Third Text) and “Vernon Fisher and the Hilton Family: The Unseen Work,” (2025, Third Text). Critical writings and interviews appear in Hyperallergic, British Journal of Photography, Glasstire, and Flat Files.
