Have you ever wondered how to write an artist statement? What information needs to be provided? In this online workshop, students will be advised how to put together an artist statement to be used for exhibitions, portfolio reviews, and an artist website as well as submissions for funding and artist residencies. We will discuss what information should be covered within these essential documents and what questions need to be answered within them. Students will analyze examples from established artists and receive feedback on writing they have done for their own projects. Photographers and artists of any level are welcome and will benefit from this workshop.

Provide your peers with feedback on current artist statements of their projects
Receive valuable feedback on an artist statement for one of your current projects
Prerequisites: None
Course Prep:
For the first class, please be prepared to share a current body of work and project statement. Students will receive feedback on their writing during the second day of the workshop.
